On Thursday evening, September 27th, the members of Merewether Golf Club came together to vote on the next stage of the Over-55’s Residential Development. The vote specified the minimum value that the members would accept as part of the development and thereby allows the Board and Selected Developer (ThirdAge) to progress negotiations in good faith. In an overwhelming result the members returned 223 ‘Yes’ votes to 3 ‘No’ votes, providing the Board with a mandate to continue the contract and design discussions with ThirdAge.
It is important to note that this does not mean that the minimum value specified in the proposal voted on is that which will be adopted, it does however provide the baseline for discussions to continue.
